Los Angeles’ Home‑Sharing ordinance allows short‑term rentals only in a host’s primary residence; non‑primary residences and ADUs cannot be rented short‑term. Hosts must register online, obtain a registration number and display it on all listings, maintain a local contact, and there are two permit types—Regular (up to 120 days) and Extended (beyond 120 days).
