Regulations
Lake Hughes, an unincorporated community in Los Angeles County, follows the county’s short‑term rental ordinance. Rentals are permitted only in the host’s primary residence; hosts must register annually, display a county-issued registration number and maintain a local contact; hosted stays when the host is absent are limited to 90 days per year, occupancy is capped at two guests per bedroom plus two (maximum 12) and accessory dwelling units may not be used. Operators must obtain a transient occupancy tax certificate and collect the county’s 12 % TOT from guests on stays of 30 days or less and remit it.
