Good Friday 2026: The Short-Weekend Pricing Pattern Too Many Hosts Get Wrong
The GnG Vacation Take
Most platforms nudge hosts toward a symmetric weekend rate. That's wrong for half the weekends of the year. Running a pricing asymmetry calendar — by holiday, by event — is how our portfolio earns a measurable premium over self-managed comps.

Today is Good Friday. Tonight's check-ins are a specific booking cohort: families who took Friday as PTO, groups driving up from nearby cities, and extended-family planners anchoring Easter Sunday.

The three-night pricing mistake

Most SoCal STR hosts set a uniform weekend rate: Friday = Saturday = Sunday. For the Easter weekend, this under-prices Friday and over-prices Sunday.

What the data actually says

  • Friday night at Easter weekend prices at roughly 115% of a typical Friday for the year
  • Saturday night is only 5% above typical Saturday — the premium isn't where hosts think
  • Easter Sunday prices like a regular Sunday on most properties — which means it's the softest night of the weekend

What to do this weekend

  • Raise Friday rates 10-15% above your weekend base
  • Hold Saturday at your normal weekend rate
  • Allow flexible Sunday departures to let the 3-night booking close without friction

Why this works

Easter guests are anchored on arriving Friday. They're less price-sensitive on the lead night than on the trailing one. Capturing Friday premium is how you actually win Easter weekend, not by hiking Saturday.
